Waltercio Caldas (Brazil) is a Brazilian sculptor, designer and graphic artist considered as one of the most important figures in the international contemporary art scene. Numerous museums and art institutions have dedicated exhibitions to his work since the '60, including the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam, 1992), the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (Lisbon, 2008), the Austin’s Blanton Museum (Austin, 2013) and the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo (2013). He represented Brazil in the 47th Venice Biennale (1997), took part in the 52nd Venice Biennale (2007), also participated in the documenta IX in Kassel (1992) and in the 5th Mercosul Biennial (2005). His works are included in major collections throughout the world: Centre Georges Pompidou, the MoMA, the National Gallery of Art (Washington), the Museu de Arte Moderna in Sao Paulo and the Museu de Arte Moderna in Rio de Janeiro, among others.

Hugo Achugar (Uruguay) is a Uruguayan poet, writer, essayist and researcher. He has held professorships in Venezuela, United States of America and Uruguay. Professor at the Northwestern University and at the University of Miami, he was also Professor of Latin American Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Education at the University of the Republic of Uruguay. From 2008 to 2015, he was the National Director of Culture from the Uruguayan Ministry of Education and Culture. In addition to numerous works of poetry, Hugo Achugar wrote essays on the social dimension of the artistic phenomena and culture.
