Carlos Caamano Proyecto Fotográfico is an independent initiative that was created in 2006 with the aim of encouraging photographic production in Peru and promoting its dissemination and promotion, both in Lima and in various cities abroad. Thus, Carlos Caamano Photographic Project has become a dynamic platform, oriented to the production and curation of photography exhibitions.   The project is managed in collaboration with the represented photographers, and interacting with other agents in the sector, such as cultural centers, festivals, galleries, alternative spaces and specialized fairs.

What is your ideal type of collector? Serious collectors, the ones who are really interested in the concept or story that is behind the work. If they are photography collectors, even better.

What, on the contrary, is the sort of collector you try to avoid at all cost? No one. I think that we should welcome any kind of collector. It is our job to give them advise and to help them to become a good collector.

Who is the collector from whom you have learnt the most, and why? Liz Christensen, curator for the Deutsche Bank in NY. She is really sensible about the works and she has a defined line for the collection she is in charge.

What, if any, is the mistake you would never make again? Participating in a far away fair, without having enough information about it and its market.
